Getting started
How do I create an account?
LogBook is invite-only during the beta. Ask for an invite by email. The invitation arrives as a link; open it in the browser you want to use and set a password of at least 10 characters.
Do I need a card?
No. An account needs an email address and a password, nothing else. A card only comes into it if you choose to become a Supporter later, and Stripe handles that.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. LogBook is a web app. In Safari on iPhone use Share → Add to Home Screen; in Chrome on Android use the menu → Add to Home screen. It then opens full-screen like an app. Logging a trade with a screenshot works on the phone too.
Is there a demo?
Not yet. The screenshots on this site are from a demo account with made-up numbers. The quickest way to see LogBook is to create a free account and log one trade.
Logging trades
How do I log a trade?
Press Log trade in the journal. Fill in the instrument, the result in kronor (a loss with a minus), the date, long or short, and a grade. Press Ctrl Enter or the button to save. Everything else, such as prices, quantity, courtage, tags and notes, is optional and sits under More details.
How do I add a chart screenshot?
Copy the chart and press Ctrl V anywhere in the trade form, or on the trade's own page. You can also drop a file or browse for one, and give each image a caption. Images are scaled to at most 1,800 pixels and saved as WebP, so a screenshot is usually a few hundred kilobytes. A free account has room for 500 of them.
What is a grade?
A, B or C for how well you executed your plan, regardless of the result. An A is a trade you would take again exactly the same way, even if it lost. A C is a trade you shouldn't have taken, even if it won. Analytics breaks your numbers down by grade, which is how you see what following the plan is worth.
What is R?
R is your result measured in units of what you risked. Fill in Risk (1R) in kronor under More details, and the trade's result is also shown as an R multiple: a 500 kr risk and a 1,000 kr win is +2R. It lets you compare trades of different sizes, and Analytics shows average R per setup, grade and so on.
How do I log an open position?
Tick Position still open in the form. The trade shows as open in the journal and is kept out of every statistic until you close it. When you do, edit the trade, enter the result and untick the box.
Can I edit or delete a trade?
Yes. Open the trade and press Edit (or the E key) to change anything, including images and tags. Delete is on the same page. You can also select several trades in the journal list and delete them together.
How does the Avanza screenshot scan work?
Screenshot Avanza's Genomförda transaktioner table, press Scan screenshot in the journal and paste the image. The text is read in your browser, the buys and sells are paired into trades, and trades already in your journal are marked. You tick what to add and save. The image is never uploaded for the scan. More about the scan.
Your data
Can I export my data?
Yes, any time. Settings → Data & account has Export all trades (CSV), which opens cleanly in Swedish Excel, and Full backup (JSON), which holds everything in your journal as data: trades, notes, tags, playbooks, daily notes, routines and settings. The image files themselves are not inside the JSON. There is no lock-in and no waiting period.
Where is my data stored?
In Supabase's data centre in Ireland (AWS eu-west-1): the database, your images and sign-in. The app itself is served by Vercel. The privacy policy lists every provider and what each one sees.
Who can see my trades?
You, and nobody else. Every row and every image is locked to your account, so other users can never see them. As the operator, Ludvig can technically reach the database; he only looks at your data when you ask for help or when a security incident has to be investigated. LogBook has no feed, no sharing and no analytics trackers.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Data & account → Delete account, then type your email to confirm. Everything is removed from the live database and file storage at once, and from backups within 30 days. One exception: if you have been a Supporter, records of your payments are kept by Stripe and in LogBook's bookkeeping for as long as Swedish bookkeeping law requires. Cancel Supporter before you delete; deleting doesn't cancel it by itself.
Supporter
What is Supporter?
Supporter isn't open yet. Until it is, LogBook is free for everyone. Supporter is an optional 39 kr a month, including VAT, that helps cover what LogBook costs to run. You get room for 2,000 images instead of 500 and, if you want, your first name on the pricing page. Nothing else changes: every feature stays free for everyone.
How do I cancel?
Settings → Support LogBook → Manage or cancel opens Stripe's billing page, where one click ends the subscription. Or send us an email. We won't ask why. You stay a Supporter until the end of the period you have paid for, you are not charged again, and no images are deleted.
How do refunds work?
Within 14 days of your first payment you get the full amount back if you ask, no questions asked: just email us. You also have the consumer right to withdraw within 14 days of buying, which you can use by email or, whenever Supporter can be bought, through the link in Settings.
Account
I forgot my password
On the login screen, press Forgot your password and we email you a sign-in link. Open it in the browser you want to use; you are then signed in and can set a new password under Settings → Account. The link is single-use and expires, so ask for a new one if it has been a while.
How do I change my email?
There is no button for it yet. Email us from your current address and say which address you want instead; we change it for you and confirm by email to both addresses. Your journal is untouched.
I didn't get the email
Check the spam folder first, and give it a minute. On the sign-up screen there is a Resend button after 60 seconds; on the login screen you can ask for a new sign-in link. If a company or school address filters it, try a personal one. Still nothing? Email us and we'll look.
Ready when you are.
The journal is free, and you can leave with your data any time.
Free. No card. Invite-only during the beta.
