A trading journal for people who trade on Avanza.

Avanza has no API for private customers, and we're not a partner. So LogBook reads your transactions from a screenshot instead, in your browser, and fills in the trades for you.

LogBook is invite-only during the beta. Send us an email and we'll get back to you.

How the scan works

  1. 1.Take a screenshot of your transactions

Open Genomförda transaktioner on Avanza and capture the table with the Antal, Kurs and Belopp columns in view. Dark or light theme, desktop or phone, it doesn't matter.

  2. 2.Paste it into LogBook

In the journal, press Scan screenshot, then Ctrl V. Or drop the image, or choose a file. The reader runs in your browser and takes a few seconds.

  3. 3.Check and save

LogBook pairs your buys and sells into trades, shows each one with entry, exit, result and courtage, and marks the ones already in your journal. Untick what you don't want, press Add, done.

The text recognition runs in your browser. The image is not uploaded for it.

  • A trade runs from the first buy until the position is flat again, the same way Avanza's own Resultat adds up. A position you still hold comes in as an open trade.
  • Courtage is worked out from the difference between price times quantity and the amount that actually moved, so you don't type it.
  • Turbos, minis, bull and bear certificates are read as their underlying (DAX, OMX, a stock) with the right direction and type. Ordinary shares come in as they are.
  • Deposits and withdrawals are offered as cash flows for your account size. Interest and dividends are skipped, with a note saying why.
  • Trades already in the journal are recognised by instrument, day and result, even if you logged one position as several trades. When it isn't sure, it says Possible duplicate and lets you decide.
  • If the reader misread a digit, the row is corrected from the other two numbers where that is unambiguous, and marked adjusted so you can check it. Scanned trades get the tag Avanza scan.

Why not an import or a login

Avanza doesn't offer an API to private customers, and LogBook is not an Avanza partner. We could ask for your Avanza login and scrape the site, as some tools do. We won't: it is your bank login, it breaks the moment Avanza changes a page, and it is not ours to hold.

We also don't import Avanza's CSV export. We tried the idea and dropped it: the file lacks what a journal needs (no stop, no grade, no reason), so you would end up editing every row anyway. A screenshot is something you already have, it works on the phone, and the result still goes through your hands before it is saved.

The scan is a shortcut for the typing, not a replacement for the journal. The grade, the setup tag and the one line about why you took the trade are still yours to add, and they are the part that is worth something later.

Made for Swedish trading

  • Kronor

Every amount is in SEK, with Swedish number formatting. The CSV export opens cleanly in Swedish Excel.

  • Stockholm time

Trading days, sessions and the hour-of-day analytics run on Europe/Stockholm time, so an evening US session lands on the right day.

  • ISK-friendly

LogBook tracks the result of each trade, not tax lots, and it produces no tax report. On an ISK you don't need one, and if you trade on a different account type you'll want your broker's statement for that anyway.

  • Swedish instruments

Saab B, Volvo B, OMXS30 minis, DAX turbos: the instrument field takes any name, and the scan knows Avanza's product names.

Questions

Does it work with Nordnet?

Logging trades by hand works with any broker, Nordnet included. The screenshot scan is built for Avanza's transaction table and has not been tested on Nordnet's, so count on typing those in for now.

Do you need my Avanza login?

Never. LogBook has no connection to Avanza at all. The only thing it sees is the screenshot you paste, and that is read in your browser.

Which screens does the scan read?

The Genomförda transaktioner list, with the Antal, Kurs and Belopp columns visible. Buy and sell rows become trades, deposits and withdrawals become cash flows, and interest and dividend rows are skipped. Other Avanza pages, such as the holdings view or an order history, are not read.

Can I log trades from other brokers too?

Yes, all of them. The journal doesn't care where a trade was placed: you type in instrument, result, date and a grade, and it goes in next to your Avanza trades.

Log your Avanza trades in LogBook.

Screenshot, paste, check, save. Or type them in yourself, that works too.
